Chicken Wings with Sweet & Spicy Raisin BBQ Sauce

    Ingredients

    Sweet & Spicy Raisin BBQ Sauce

    • 1 cup ketchup 
    • 1/3 cup brown sugar 
    • 1 cup California raisins, soaked in 1 cup hot water
    • 1 teaspoon cumin 
    • 2 teaspoons garlic powder 
    • 2 teaspoons onion powder 
    • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes 
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder 
    • ½ teaspoon salt 
    • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar 
    • 1 teaspoon white pepper 
    • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 

    Chicken Wings

    • 2 pounds chicken wings 
    • ½ cup cornstarch 
    • oil for frying

    Garnish

    • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
    • Cilantro (optional)

    Procedure

    1
    1. Boil one cup of water and pour over the California Raisins. Let it sit for 10 minutes to soften.
    2. Place all the ingredients (including the water from the California Raisins into a pot) and cook for about 20 minutes.
    3. Blend the BBQ sauce until smooth.
    4. Coat the chicken wings in cornstarch and fry until golden brown.
    5. Completely coat the chicken wings in BBQ sauce.
    6. Garnish with sesame seeds and cilantro if you wish and serve.
